How to get to us:
Mass Rapid Transit (subway) and Bus:
1. Alight at Kent Ridge station. Take internal shuttle bus A1 (free of charge) or SBS 95 at the bus stop in front of NUH. Alight at the second bus-stop (in front of LT27). Walk to the Department of Chemistry at Blk S8..
2. Alight at the Buona Vista MRT Station, and take Singapore Bus Services (SBS) Bus No. 95 heading south (i.e. away from the junction) along North Buona Vista Road towards the university (You can't miss the bus stop. Look out for the Ministry of Education building which is on the same side of the road). The fare is 60 cents (non-air-conditoned) or 70 cents (air-conditioned). About 3 kilometres later, the bus will turn right onto Lower Kent Ridge Road. This service now passes right through the campus to the Pasir Panjang Terminal. There are several bus stops on campus along the way. Alight at the second bus stop close to Block S16 (which is only about 50 metres away). The Department of Chemistry is located a little beyond the far side of S16 (see map). The physical address of the Department is 3 Science Drive 3.
3. Alight at the Clementi MRT station. Take SBS Nos. 96a or 151 that enter the campus on the Clementi Road end. Alight at the bus stop ouside Yusof Ishak House on Kent Ridge Crescent (see map). Then take the internal shuttle bus (Service "A") from across the road to the Faculty of Science (which is on Lower Kent Ridge Road). Or hop onto bus no. 95. Or walk - it takes under ten minutes. Only the campus shuttle bus is free.
Other bus services: SBS Nos. 97, 197, 198, 521 which ply along the Ayer Rajah Expressway. Alight and walk past the playing fields to the Faculty.
Taxi:
Alight at or near Block S16. Look out for a car park-control gate at the entrance of the S16 carpark - that's your reference point. Or alight at the Block S10 carpark. Block S8 is just 2 minutes' walk away.
From Changi International Airport: Travelling by taxi is the most convenient.
There are two possible routes: via the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), or the East Coast Parkway (ECP) which links up with the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE). On the more direct ECP/AYE route, take Exit 8 which links up directly with Lower Kent Ridge Road. Alight at Block S16 or Block S8.
Via the PIE, take Exit 20A onto Adam Road, then right, onto Holland Road. Then take a left turn onto North Buona Vista Road, and after ca. 3 kilometres, turn right onto Lower Kent Ridge Road.
From downtown (Orchard Road and its vicinity), taxi drivers normally take Holland Road/North Buona Vista Road, or sometimes the ECP/AYE.
All taxi drivers should know how to get to NUS - the above is just to help you with your bearings.
(Note: There is a taxi stand at the National University Hospital, just a few minutes' walk from Block S16, so leaving NUS by taxi is rather convenient, too.) There is also a waiting area for booked taxis at the Block S16 driveway.
If you drive:
The visitors' car park is on the opposite side of Lower Kent Ridge Road from Block S16, next to S17. If you come in at the National University Hospital end, the car park entrance is just a few metres after the small roundabout on the right.
