CPE Lyon or École Supérieure de Chimie Physique Électronique de Lyon was established in 1883, located in Villeurbanne, France.
With strong ties to business and research, CPE Lyon educates tomorrow’s engineers for careers in chemistry and chemical engineering, electronics, telecommunications and computer technology. Situated on one of the largest and most productive scientific campuses in France, the LyonTech-La Doua, CPE is home to sophisticated laboratories and renowned researchers including 3 Nobel Prize winners.

Enrichment Program

The European Immersion Program is a 4-week program (29 May 2017 – 26 June 2017) designed to allow Chemistry and Food Science & Technology students to familiarize themselves with the European history, culture, and society, research and learning experiences. Each year, up to 30 students would be selected for this program. Accompanied by two faculty members who will be their mentors, these students would spend 4 weeks, during summer break visiting the universities and industry in selected countries in Europe. During the visit, the participants will stay in the university student dormitories to maximize interactions with their peers.

Participants may engage in a variety of activities such as

- visits to the industrial parks, chemical and pharmaceutical firms

- laboratory visits to universities and research centers

- attending lectures & workshops

- co-hosting students' conference

- cultural visits

- dialogues with start-ups  and entrepreneurs

Objectives

The European Immersion Program aims to provide Chemistry and Food Science & Technology students with:

- a real-life exposure with the business opportunities in Europe associated with the chemical industry;

- a living experience in a research environment that thrives upon entrepreneurial and enterprising activities;

- a prerequisite knowledge to prepare them for cross-continental research and business cooperation;

- A hands-on understanding of the role of chemistry in the economic development in Europe;

- An interactive opportunity with peers in Europe.

Visa is not required for Singapore passport holder to visit France for maximum stay up to 90 days.
