The Department of Chemistry hosted SInCCCS-1 on December 2-3, 2002 in the Faculty of Science, NUS. This was the first of a planned series of annual symposia to take place between the two countries alternately in form of a partnership program. This has been successfully used as a platform to develop and sustain our academic and research relationships, research collaboration, staff and student exchange, joint workshops, and academic partnership with the Indian counterparts on cultural, scientific and technological fronts.

As a result of this symposium, closer ties with various premier educational and research institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology at Bombay, Chennai, Delhi and Kanpur have been established.

The Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay hosted the SInCCCS-2 in Mumbai, India in November 7-9, 2003.  Professor Lee Hian Kee, Head of NUS Chemistry led a delegation of 9 Chemistry staff members to participate in this event.
