CHEMISTRY EDUCATION SYMPOSIUM 2005 @ SICC-4
The Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC), the Department of Chemistry of the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Natural Science and Science Education Academic Group of the National Institute of Education (NIE), and the Ministry of Education, Singapore will host jointly the Chemistry Education Symposium 2005, a one-day symposium, at the Singapore International Chemical Conference IV (SICC-4) (Room Acacia/Casuarina) on Friday, 9 December 2005, at the Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore. This year, NUS will be celebrating its Centennial (1905-2005), marking 100 years of tertiary education in Singapore. SICC-4 is part of a series of celebratory events to commemorate this significant milestone.

The theme of this symposium has been chosen as “New Paradigms in Chemistry Education.” We seek to provide a platform for teachers, educators, scientists, and others involved in chemistry education in and outside of Singapore to discuss new paradigms in chemistry education across all school levels. It is also our honour to present, in conjunction with the symposium, Prof. Joseph J. Lagowski, who will deliver a public lecture that evening and Prof. Peter J. Fensham who will host the Ang Kok Peng Memorial Chemistry Lecture.
