Dr. Ignatius J. Rasiah received his PhD degree in 1992, and carried out postdoctoral research at the Lash Miller Labs in the University of Toronto in Canada. Prior to joining Johnson Matthey Electronics in 1996, he was a consultant to a number of companies on materials technology related projects and has been a lecturer at the University of Malaya in Malaysia for the Masters in Materials Technology program.
Dr. Rasiah was the Senior Technical Manager at Honeywell Electronic Materials, where he headed a global R&D team involved with the development of materials for electrical interconnection and thermal management solutions in the electronics industry. In Singapore, he headed the Honeywell STAR ( Semiconductor Technology & Research) Centre. His current research interests are in the study of interfacial mechanics and chemistry of semiconductor packaging materials. In particular, the study of polymer metal interfaces and their impact on thermal resistance in adverse conditions such as high humidity and temperature is a key theme in the electronics industry. He is also involved in joint research programs for integrated materials solutions with some of the major semiconductor companies. He is currently attached to William Global Partners as a Senior Technical Consultant.
